TO FIND THE CARPARK: SET SATNAV FOR THE BULL RING GARAGE, POSTCODE CV33 9HL - and continue round the one-way street until Harbury Village Club car park is seen on RHS. Just buzz the bell to be let in.
AO here: my name's Mark - I used to run East Berks TSSC area (now ably taken over by the wonderful Doug Brown), until about 5 years ago when I moved from Reading in Berkshire, up to near Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Since moving up here, I hadn't been to any of the local monthly Triumph meets, despite owning a Wedgwood blue mk3 GT6 since 1996 (restored from a basket case), a Spitfire 1500 (now a metallic purple 2.5L Gitfire, which some of you may have seen on the Club Triumph stand at the NEC in November 2022), and a mk2 Vitesse saloon for about 5 years (which I took round the UK on the Round Britain Reliability Run in 2021, with long time Triumph nutters Andy Cook - GT6 register secretary - and Glynn Davis, the car having previously been in my mate's dad's barn since 1989!).
The main reason for my previous non-attendance of the local monthly meets around where I live now is that they're weren't exactly local - hence my plan to fix that by starting up a new area. The venue for this new "South Warwickshire" area is Harbury Village Club & Institute, in Harbury which is a mid-sized village close to Leamington Spa / Warwick / Southam, not far from Harry Webster's old haunt (Kenilworth), and about 3 miles from the British Motor Heritage Museum at Gaydon. There are loads of car nuts around these parts, because Jaguar Land Rover's and Aston Martin's main production and design facilities are also at Gaydon, and hence there are loads of regular all-marque club meetings near here (...which I feel we could invade with our Triumphs... e.g. the breakfast meets at the Long Itchington diner, a regular meet at Southam cricket club, another one at Banbury cricket club, Gilks' Garage Cafe at Kineton, Caffeine and Machine near Stratford, etc. etc.).
So to recap: the venue on the first Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm, is Harbury Village Club and Institute, Crown Street, Harbury, near Leamington Spa CV33 9HE. The club has a large car park, accessed from Hall Lane (which is a one-way street)
- SO SET YOUR SATNAV FOR THE BULL RING GARAGE, POSTCODE CV33 9HL - and continue round the tiny one-way section until you see the large Harbury Village Club car park on your right.
The club committee are very happy to have us, there's plenty of space both inside and out, with a large carpark, and there's a licensed bar with snacks, or if you haven't eaten before leaving the house they're happy for takeaway food to be ordered/eaten there. Just ring the doorbell to be let in (as it's a members club - but don't worry about that - once you're in you'll be very welcome!)
If you're having trouble with your car, want to know which suppliers to use, where to find elusive parts, or just want to show off your car, we should be able to help you on all counts - based on >25 years' experience in the Triumph world! I hope to see some of you and your nice cars - always the more the merrier, so feel free to invite anyone with an interest in Triumphs whether TSSC members or not - we welcome anyone and everyone who loves Triumphs!
