Welsh, North Wales Area news
March area news
night on the 1st., held at the Bickerton Poacher. It was
another good turn-out for what is always a fun evening, lots
of chatting and laughter. Helena was due to go but could
not, as we had snow and ice on the ground, but at this time
of year it is always changeable, so we book things and hope
for the best! However, everyone who did attend that night
enjoyed themselves and had a really good time.
Tuesday 5th February was our meeting at the Trevor Arms,
and it was a cold and wet night, so definitely no classics
used. Our numbers were down to only twenty-nine, but it
was still a fun evening. Future events were covered by
Helena, Richard and Pete (who is taking over from Richard).
We had another large raffle, again with some good prizes,
and of course this helps to build up funds for our group. We
are all looking forward to the coming season with many events
already planned, and keeping fingers crossed that the weather
will be good.
Another lovely evening in smashing company.
The February OFFAL on the 26th was prepared by M.G. Joan
with help from her companion, Richard. Twenty of our group
met at Bellis's Garden Centre in Holt for teas, coffees and collection
of the route plans. After our refreshments and a wander
around the garden centre we set off on a very pleasant
and scenic drive to end up at The Beeches in Gresford, where
our pre-ordered lunches were served quickly and efficiently.
The numbers for this OFFAL were down by quite a few
because a good number of people were away on holiday, but
that did not spoil the enjoyment. Another great day in great
company, and the weather could not have been better for
February, we had sunshine all the way.
That is that for now, this time of year is always pretty quiet.
But, don't forget that our meetings are held at The Trevor Arms
in Marford on the first Tuesday of the month at 8.00 p.m.
