South West, Devon Area news
Devon Area AGM Report November 2024
We have had another successful year in Devon and have arranged a number of great events for our members.
Some have been better supported than others and, if you have something you want to see in our programme, now is the time to suggest!
Various members have been utterly brilliant in arranging events for us this year, amongst you we have to mention the incomparable Jon Chartres who continues to arrange our fabulous Triumph Tours of Devon along with other great drives; the Botham and Frost families who took all the strain for Powderham meaning we could enjoy the weekend and, of course, Steve Woollett and Guy, who masterminded our first trip to Britanny. There have been many other notable events. Darren Groves continues to manage the Devon website, which is seeing increased traffic and is well worth a visit. All our members are appreciated, whether you can make the occasional Club Night or event, or just enjoy us from the sidelines by reading of our exploits in the Courier, Facebook or on the TSSC website.
We have continued to hold our Club Nights at the Star Inn, where James and Heidi and their staff have been so supportive of us. In return for us taking up so much of their space, even a small portion of chips could justify our presence?
As to the future, John and I have been in role now for 19 years, we can tell from how old Alice Northcott is (!) and we do not want to become stale or lazy. Maybe we should be saying that this will be our last year as AOs so it would be appreciated if some of you could look towards a succession!!
