With no Club Night scheduled for December, and with Christmas and New Year safely behind us, our next event was the ever popular visit to the Smugglers Inn at Dawlish. As always, our thanks to Jackie & Allan Prowse for organising this one. Under new ownership, we were a trifle apprehensive but the carvery was as fantastic as ever. In the end 41 of us sat down, but would have been nearer 50 had everyone been able to make it. A good few Triumphs in the car park, Allan & Jackie’s 2500S, Dan’s Mk3 Spitfire along with Rob’s 1500, TR6s of Mark, Dave and Tim, Sue & Steve’s lovely Stag, Jennie’s Vitesse convertible and new member Graham’s Vitesse. Les & Jenny are joining the Club and we are delighted to welcome all, old and new. We have already booked for the first Sunday in January 2025 (5th) for up to 50 of us. The Star Inn at Liverton was really busy for our January Club Night, with nearly 20 people coming along, most of whom took advantage of the pub’s 2 course offer! James & Heidi are always very welcoming to us, and have plans this year to hold monthly car evenings on an informal basis, with food available in the garden. More news on this shortly. This will be in addition to our normal monthly meets, which will continue on the third Wednesday of the month – see websites, emails and Facebook TSSC Devon for details. The freezing weather prevented all but Julian’s Skoda and Dan’s freshly signwritten 80s Maestro van from leaving the warmth of their garages. If you are going to the NEC Restoration Show, look out for the van on the Dinitrol stand. We welcomed Graham & Alison Jewers to their first Club night and we hope it will be the first of many.
