Cornwall July News

Hi all, a short report from me this month we have all just returned from Marvelous Martock long weekend away with Friends from Cornwall and Devon. Claire and Malc have kindly put a few words together and here it is :Â A few of us from Cornwall and Devon areas have just had a marvelous long weekend at Martock, Somerset. Southfork is a wonderful small touring site at South Petherton, with great facilities in a pleasant setting. Many thanks to Colin & Karen for organising our weekend.
Many of us arrived on the Thursday but were late due sadly to an accident on the A30 so put many of us behind. Colin came to our rescue though when he popped his head round to offer and get us all a fish & chip supper, great timing. So off he roared in his TR7 4.6 litre which he tells us is not great for towing at the moment, more minor adjustments required!!
Nothing was planned for Friday in day so I piped up we could go to Street as Malc needed new shoes, surprisingly enough Malc jumped at the chance to go shopping on this occasion and we ended up with a small convoy heading out. Malc all those shoes and you could not find any, see this shopping lark is not always so easy!
We all had a great Friday night out at a pub for tea and a game of skittles, there was a few rogue balls and some straight through the middle but the winner was . . . . Malc.
Saturday was an early start, Colin had booked us into a village fete at Corfe, near Taunton. A picturesque village, the fete set in rolling hills and we had glorious weather to top it all. A wonderful mix of stalls and entertainment was on hand and a real bonus thanks to a local villager pilot was a superb air display in a biplane. Back at camp it was BBQ night so all cooking and drinking our favourite tipples, cant beat it! Now all this partying I was glad of a lie in on Sunday morning, but couldn't miss the roar of Colin's TR again rounding up people for a Breakfast meet at Sparkford at Haynes Motor Museum. A great mix of all cars and a lot of them! Unfortunately Sunday afternoon was a wet one so had a relaxing afternoon but met up again in the evening to go out for a final meal just a mile
and a half down the road at the Rose and Crown, super pub with super food, a lovely end to a great weekend, would certainly recommend this area and site.

Many thanks you two for the write up, sadly you and a few others missed out on the rounders match and Cream Tea done the Cornish way !Â on Saturday before the evening BBQ . We had great fun especially having the dogs as fielders , Well done Sky, Bobby and Buzz !! Thoroughly enjoyed another great event at Martock.
