South East, Thames Area news
March area news
SEM, we would like some help this year from Thames
Members at the show with parking up the Triumphs as they
arrive & judging them for the awards we give out, please let
me know if you would like to help? I have got a new gearbox
cover made by Nigel H in fiberglass with a built-in access
panel to allow you to top up the oil. It not yet fitted as it looks
too good to be hidden away under the carpet of the Vitesse.
SOCIAL EVENINGS 7th FEBUARY @ THE FAIRMILE INN
COBHAM.
I am in the Vitesse on this chilly evening & meet up with
Julie &Mary (Mum). We also have the pleasure of George B,
Martin F, Richard E, Karen & Adam C from Surrey Area.
There are three Triumph’s in the car park this evening: -
Martins Mk2 2000 saloon, Karen’s Mk1 2000 estate & my
Vitesse. Karen & Adam had some marmalade which they
had recently made for George & Us (tasty stuff) & to enjoy
the night out. Martin has been tinkering with his Spitfire,
teaching his kids how to maintain his pride & joy. Richard
would like to get his GT6 set up on a rolling road. A wonderful
evening with great company.
21ST FEBUARY @ THE GEORGE INN, WRAYSBURY.
In the Vitesse this evening Julie & I head to the meeting,
where we meet up with Graeme (just landed from Europe)
Tony H, Chris C, Jay D, Eric, Doug , George B & John P.
Tonight we have a wonderful line up of Triumphs, Eric’s
Spitfire MkIV for the 1st time, John P Mk 1 Vitesse, George’s
Mk1 Vitesse & my Mk2 Vitesse, also a Humber Sceptre
Mk3of Jays which he swapped his Spitfire for. Work on our
triumphs has been, Tony’s Stag has had a brake rebuild.
Chris has changed the fuel lines on his Spitfire MK3 for
ethanol resistant ones. Doug has fitted new lights to the
heater controls to his GT6 Mk3. Eric’s Spitfire has a new MoT
& is now in regular use since he recommissioned it. John
has fitted Mintex pads to Vitesse as well as a set of bonnet
locks
Our next meetings are now: -
1st Thursday of the month at The Fairmile Inn
Cobham.
3rd Thursday of the month at The George Inn
Wraysbury.
