March area news
garages I have started work on the GT6, at the moment the
gearbox has been replaced, just need to test drive it before
refitting all the trim, I am also in the process of constructing
a new dash, with the hope of fitting 3 clocks in the centre section,
never got round to getting it re-sprayed as the friend who
was going to do it had other projects on the go, so I might get
it done next year.
Chris Fish is getting to grips with a full sub frame, suspension
and steering rebuild after his Dolly Sprint's mishap during the
winter, he hopes to have it sorted fairly quickly, then he only
has the bodywork damage to sort out, he also is playing with
his Gentry which he HOPES !!!! will be a runner soon.
Brian Armstrong is pressing ahead with the re trimming and
electrics of his Stag, so hopes to have it on the road next
month.
James Jordan is also cracking on with his Spitfires engine
rebuild, he has had a new camshaft fitted, after the lobe that
drives the fuel pump had worn away and ceased to operate
the fuel pump.
Our events committee had a meeting last week, and we have
tried to plan a few events that we have never attended before,
as well as some that we attend every year,
I have already sent out a copy of that list to all on my mailing
list, but here are a few of those events
28th April on Drive it day the Bobby Shaftoe hills of the
north run,
May 12th MG Classics @ Chester Le street riverside.
May 26th Classic show @ Witton Castle. Crook
June 1st Borders Classics @ Thirlstane Castle Lauder.
June 9th Morpeth Fair
June 23rd Classic show Paxton house Berwick
June 30th Picnic run to the Tan Hill pub Yorkshire.
July 25th-29th Silverstone classic weekend, (up to writing
this we have 20 going to this event)
That is as far ahead that we have planned at the moment,
there are other smaller events that we may fit in as well.
