Hi everybody. Well February's weather was amazing followed by a wet March, luckily our February run was on one of the best days of the year so far, Anne & Wayne arranged a fab run out around North Manchester and Lancashire, we met up with some of the Lancashire area members on route with an hour long drive through amazing countryside, stopping off at Huntley's Farm Shops & Restaurant for lunch then onto Samlesbury Hall near Preston. We had eight Triumphs that made the run out and had a good photo line up at Huntleys, parked in front of an MG meet that had also chosen to meet there. Graham brought along his new acquired Stag and it as well as all the other Triumphs performed faultlessly. The March run we are planning is a simple country drive out and lunch at a country / village pub, April run TBA and the May run out being a much bigger run out, there is a Facebook event been created called North Wales Drive Out on 12th May, starting near Chester and then on to and around North Wales through places like Betws-y-Coed, bottom of Snowden, Llanberis etc. there will be all sorts of cars doing the run so should be a great day out. With this years main TSSC Event (Inter club TSSC & TR Register) being held at Stratford Upon Avon racecourse on 16th to18th August 2019, a few of our area will be attending this event and will try and get more from Manchester to support this event. There are plenty of B&Bs/Hotels in the area for those who don't camp, booking for this is in this Courier magazine, also don't forget to support other local area events if you can. Just a reminder anyone still wishing to display on our stand at the Chipping Steam Fair need to get there applications sent in asap, you can download it from www.chippingsteamfair. com Update on our members cars, Paul has now stripped his Spitfire bulkhead , ready to be sprayed with 2 pack epoxy been applied first. I have fitted a new alternator and Accuspark electronic ignition I am very pleased with its operation. Paul has a Vitesse saloon which he is changing to a convertible, he has a rear Herald tub which he is using and windscreen surround. Alistair should by now have his new roof fitted to his Bond Equipe 2.5ltr, its longer than a standard Vitesse one so has had to have one specially made. As previously the Manchester area covers such a large area, we change our area meeting venue every few months, so from April onwards we will be at The Joshua Bradley, Stockport Road, Hyde, Stockport, SK14 5EZ, see you down there. We have decided to change a few things for this year, firstly as requested by our members it seems that they want more single day runs out to various points of interest, ie museums etc rather than booking on at car shows where applications have to be submitted months in advance where its difficult to get names put forward to who is attended, so we will concentrate this year on mostly single day drive outs and to car shows where you can just turn up on the day. So keep an eye out on our facebook page and on here for details of what we are up to. Following on from this, we have decided to change our Manchester Area Weekend to a BBQ weekend with onsite accommodation to suit members who don't have caravans or camp, date and venue TBA.
