Hi Folks. Well February may have been the hottest on record but on Sunday the 10th for the Heart of England meet it was very wet and cold, so we decided not to go, Paul and Joan went but in their modern Mazda and reported there only being 4 or 5 classics attending. Sunday 17th was our monthly Dalos Day Run this time planned by Rikk & Jeanette, we started at the Corner House Pub, Bulkington and enjoyed an excellent run which took in a number of villages around the eastern side of Coventry mainly in Warwickshire before concluding at the Bulls Head in Brinklow for lunch. We were joined for the first time by John and Sheila Harper in their very nice GT6 Convertible, there were 12 of us in 6 cars all of them Triumphs, the food and service was very good, thanks Rikk & Jeanette for another great day out in great cars and great company. The following Sunday the 24th the weather was lovely and sunny so we decided to jump in the "Smiffy Spitty" and go to the Barn Restaurant near Willey for their meeting and what a good turnout, approximately 50 vehicles were there, we were joined by Dave Harris in his Spitfire and enjoyed a cou- ple of hours in the hot sunshine having a natter and a noggin. There is a meeting at the Barn Restaurant every 4th Sunday of the month and during the summer they will be having a few more, we have a list of the dates so we will email you all a copy. Our monthly meeting at the Bull & Butcher, Corley Moor on Tuesday March the 5th was well attended considering it was another wet and cold night, 12 of us enjoyed a meal in the restaurant pre meeting and were then joined by another 7 members giving us a total of 19 for the meeting. The clocks go forward before our next meeting on the 2nd of April so if its a good night weather wise we should be in the Paddocks with our cars. The March Dalos Day Run on the 17th planned by ourselves we will meet in the car park of The Phantom Coach, Fletchamstead Highway (A45), Coventry at the later time of 1.30pm ready to leave at 1.45pm as we will not be dining until 3.00pm. Must know numbers by Wednesday 13th. Monies for the Darts/Skittles/Quiz night on the 20th was collected, if anyone who was not at the meeting and would like to join us for this excellent night please contact us before Wednesday 13th so we can accommodate you. Any donations for raffle greatly appreciated. Sunday April 28th was pencilled in for our next Dalos Day but after being informed by Mike Hadley of a Classic Car / Rock and Roll event at the Oddhouse. Snarestone it was decided to attend this event instead and have lunch there, all classic car owners with their cars will receive a free lunch, entertainment from the Ibstock Rock 'n' Roll Club starts at 12.00pm. Contact Andy on 07964077892,or email andyhorrobin@aol.com if you want to attend. The Oddhouse, Bosworth Road, Snarestone, DE12 7DQ Roger Smith informed us that the Kineton Classic Car meets begin on Thursday April 4th at 6.00pm, this is a well attended event which also includes a good representation of classic motorbikes and there is normally a BBQ and cheap beer in the clubhouse. Phil bought a diff off Roger Jones for the "Smffy Spitty" and Roger duly donated £10 of the price to club funds, thankyou very much Roger. That's all for now folks get those classic cars out and dusted and join us at some of the events throughout this coming year.
